Who is Masaki Hada?

Masaki Hada is a Professor at the University of Tsukuba and a researcher exploring what ultrafast electrons can uniquely reveal about matter.
My group develops ultrafast electron diffraction and related electron-based methodologies to visualize structural, interfacial, and molecular dynamics on femtosecond timescales.

Current research focuses on:
・Interfaces and heterostructures
・Molecular and organic materials
・Carbon-based materials
・THz-driven structural dynamics
・Nonequilibrium states of matter

The long-term goal is to identify information channels that are uniquely accessible to ultrafast electrons and to establish new approaches for understanding matter far from equilibrium.

羽田研究室では、超高速時間分解電子線回折法という手法を用いて「分子動画」の撮影を行っています。物質に光を当てた時にどのように、物質中の原子や分子が変化していくのかを1兆分の1秒の時間で観測します。
